How Easy Is It to Connect to a Film

Filmmaking is a hard art. One isn't typically inclined by "rules" to accomplish a great film. It really all just depends on the imagination of the people working together on the film. Typically the cinematographer, the director, and the editor are the major players in which the outlook and initial product of the film will turn out. But what is most important in making the film is how the connection these players have with the film that they are making. The connection is more important because if a cinematographer is truly invested in a film and can easily connect to a character like in the movie “Captain Philips” then the movie will come out to be better. In this article they say that because a film is based on a true story then it is easier to connect to the character. It has more authenticity. The article says that “its easy to make a fictional character” but, having a character that is real feel like it is more alive. So, in regards to this, will there be more upcoming movies that is based on a true story? As a filmmaker I personally like making up characters. But if a real character presents itself to me will I take the role of making it come to life in the big screen?
