"China's Interet Video Gian Youku Todou Picks Up Three TV Dramas From Endemol." Endemol, an international television production and distribution company, struck a deal with Youku Todou (Two of China's biggest online TV companies, who has recently merged). The Chinese company got the rights for three drams from Endemol. It seems like this Chinese company is making its way to produce legit content. To show their seriousness they sued and online search giant called Baidu for $49 million dollars. China is not playing a around, they get more than 300 million views a day. China is making progress in the film business, pretty soon they can be producing high end stuff. Will Hollywood stay the center? Or will it move around? As a filmmaker I think I should be worried about China taking the fiilm industry away from the US but I don't see that happening for a long time. As a film student this doesn't really concern me, except for the fact that maybe Youku and Tudou may have better content streaming than the rest of competing websites.

Hollywood's Brand New and Exciting Film Museum!

"The long Yellow Brick Road to Hollywood's new museum"

Lo and behold! The coming to Hollywoods new and amazing film musuem is coming. This "major motion-picture museum" will be built in Los Angeles, naturally, and it aims to  open by mid-2017 after it renovates and espands the unused building it's leasing from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. As previous film museums established were some what succesful and not entirely popular to the public,   Bill Kramer ("managing director of the academy's museum project") is aiming to make this musuem fun and interactive to the public.

They are going to have an exhibit where visitors will get hands-on interactive stations to learn about the art of filmmaking.

They are also going to present new film technology to the public rather than "merely duplicate what exists elsewhere."

This musuem is very dependent on the tickets they sell. But the funding that is currently being received is coming from generous benefactors, 25% of funding has come from donations. 

The two architechs who are in charge of designing this new museum are Renzo Piano and Zoltan Pali and the building would be 200,000 square foot.

This new museum will be very important to the industry because I see it as a giant advertisement to Hollywood and the film business. This big project will spread the ideals of the unique craft of filmmaking. It isn't just blockbuster movies filled with mindless actions and explosion, but an artform anyone can be introduced to to tell their own particular messege.

If this museum is a success it will bring more light to the world of film and attract more people to it. If it does, it will spark interest in many people who visit it. As a student I am worried bcause it will give birth to competion. More people would be competing for jobs and places in classes. As a filmmaker I am glad because there are more people to work with and more options to take will be available. More people more ideas. More legendary films possible to be produced. These mass of new films would further develope the strategies of creating a great movie because new ideas would fall into the cirlce. As a consumer I am excited what future films will come out due to the many new ideas and technology that might be a result of this film museum to be established. I can't help but wonder what new things will come out because of this new museum.
