Cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki-Gravity

This mexican born cinnemotographer received an Oscar nomination for the movie "Gravity." He has not only been recognized for "Gravity" but also the romance "To the Wonder." Lubezki was interviewed about the movie "Gravity." He shared some insight for upcoming filmmakers. He expressed how the science of the movie Gravity was not exactly corretct. When making a movie we have to to understand that we, as the filmmakers, are the artist. We control the canvas. Lubezki explained how the astronauts he was working with were "appalled by the licenses we were taking" because technichally Sandra Bullock shouldn't be able to navigat in space with just an extingiusher. He says that we as the creators shouldn't be bound by physics and to remeber that if your movie is fiction you can do what you want, as long as you make the audience believe that whats going on in the film's universe is not only possible but doing it anyother way is impossible.  We have to make the audience believe. I agree when Libezki says that we are like magicians, using tricks to make our audience believe in what we show them, because if we are in that mindset then nothing can hold back our imaginations as creators. As a future filmmaker I think that this is great advice. Young minds have the power of innovative immagination along with new innovations from technology, what can you as a filmmaker create by taking off the chains holding you back from your true potential? Can the new and upcoming young filmmakers create a take the film industry to new heights?
