Movie Telemarketing is BAD!
In the movie industry it is only fitting that before any feature film is realeased, promoters of the movie must hype up the audience before realeasing the movie. Usually this is done through the use of what we call a "movie trailer." Its crazy how everyone can get so excited over a movie by watching snippets and pieces of the movie in an order that makes no sense. Back in 2012 a former Fox News host named Mike Huckabee sent a messege to 3 million homes to promote a movie called "Last Ounce of Courage." This earned him a "$5 million class-action lawsuit over an alleged violation of the Telephon Communication Protection Act and Missouri's Do Not Call Law." It's crazy how trying to promote a movie can get some one in much trouble. Promoting the movie this way was in actuallity a great idea. It's the first time I've heard of a movie promotion in such a unique way. It raises the question for future filmmakers if the amount of promotion for their film is limited. As a student this article about this law suit has opened my eyes to a new form of advertisement, maybe I'll search for more unique ways to advertise my product to the world.
